Rangers have travelled to Belgium without centre-back John Souttar ahead of their Champions League qualifying clash with Union Saint-Gilloise.
The defender, who made his competitive debut against Livingston on Saturday, joins Ryan Kent in staying behind for the third round first leg showdown. The fixture has also come too early for Alfredo Morelos, who was included in the UEFA squad list for the double header but is still fighting back to full fitness after a long-term thigh injury.
In Souttar 's absence, however, fellow new signing Ben Davies has been drafted in for the crunch encounter at the Stadion den Dreef on Tuesday. Souttar endured a difficult debut at the Tony Macaroni Arena on Saturday and wasn't with the Rangers travelling party as they departed from Glasgow Airport on Monday afternoon. Neither was key man Kent, who appeared to suffer an ankle injury in the latter stages of the weekend's 2-1 in West Lothian. However, the issue is not believed to be serious and he could return in time for face Kilmarnock on Saturday.
Kent's absence could be covered by the returning Rabbi Matondo after he sat out the Premiership opener. New signing Ridvan Yilmaz has also travelled and is in contention to play.
