The SPFL's partnership with a digital company has sparked another commercial issue with Rangers.
The league have unveiled a deal with Sorare for a fantasy football game using non-fungible token (NFTs) featuring Scottish footballers.
These NFTs cover 11 of the 12 Scottish Premiership clubs and allow players to purchase a digital card collection to build their team.
However, Rangers are not involved in this sponsorship deal.
Sport Business report that the club told the SPFL they would be opting out citing "pre-existing commercial obligations".
The club also note that they are “not required to participate” in the Sorare deal, but the NFT trading platform told SportBusiness that it is “working to onboard Rangers to Sorare separately”.
Rangers has an existing two-year deal with Sportemon Go, the NFT augmented reality sports trading platform, that expires at the end of 2022-23. The name is featured on the back of their kits.
It's the latest clash between the SPFL and Rangers when it comes to commercial deals.
The league sponsorship with cinch saw the two parties at loggerheads.
Rangers disputed that they did not have to showcase any of the used car sales company's advertising due to a contractual conflict of interest with Douglas Park's own company.
The matter is still in court, and Rangers do not display the league sponsor around the ground on advertising boards.
