Philipp Max believes Rangers will go gung ho against PSV amid a scathing verdict about the Ibrox side from icon Willy van de Kerkhof.
The Champions League playoff is on a knife edge after a pulsating first leg at Ibrox this week, with the return in Eindhoven next week. And German left back Max - who was denied a winner by quick-thinking Rangers keeper Jon McLaughlin - is expecting another cracker at the Philips Stadion.
He said: "I don't think it really matters whether Rangers play home or away, they always go full throttle and attack. It will be very tough, but we are now supported by our fans. The atmosphere was great at Ibrox. For me personally, I really enjoyed the game because it was a well-matched fight. Of course, our goalkeeper made a big mistake, but that's football and Walter Benitez has made many good saves for us and will do so again. I'm really looking forward to the return in Eindhoven and I believe we have a great chance to make it to the Champions League.
"To have the chance of reaching the group stage with a home game is all you can ask for really. The Champions League is something special. Everyone wants to play there."
Meanwhile, PSV Eindhoven and Dutch World Cup legend Willy van de Kerkhof reckons the tie is over and the hosts will cruise through to the group stage next week. The 70-year-old played over 450 games for PSV and featured in two losing World Cup Finals for the Dutch in 1974 and 1978 and he has no doubts who will go through.
He said: "Let's be honest, Rangers are not a team who are going to keep PSV out of the Champions League. We should have won in Glasgow, but we didn't take our chances and were outdone by a rare goalkeeping error. I will forgive him for that because he is an excellent keeper."
