Rangers suffered a night to forget in Amsterdam as they kicked off their Champions League group stage campaign in the worst possible fashion against Ajax - and now they've taken a cheeky swipe at skipper James Tavenier.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men went down 4-0 in the Netherlands as they followed up their Old Firm hammering by Celtic with another big defeat by the same score. Edson Alvarez, Steven Berghuis, Mohammed Kudus and Steven Bergwijn were all on target for the hosts who got up and running in the section in perfect fashion.
The Light Blues are back at Europe's top table this week as they play in front of a packed out Ibrox crowd on Wednesday night against Napoli - who smashed four past Liverpool - with the game moved 24 hours from the Tuesday. The Rangers skipper and his team-mates will have been spending time on the training ground looking to regroup and put last week's nightmare two results behind them, but Ajax has sent a fresh reminder to the full-back as they made a social media dig with him involved.
In the clip, Tavernier can be seen crouching down to collect the ball from Blind. The former Manchester United man runs beyond the 30-year-old before dropping the ball to backheel it in his direction. However, as he goes down to collect the ball the Ajax man stops it with his toe and races back into position.
His antics - accompanied with Oh No by Capone playing in the background - brought a chuckle out of team-mate Bergwijn.
The two sides will go head-to-head once again on November 1 at Ibrox in the final game of Group A.
