RANGERS are set to bank a bonus of around £1.5million as Billy Gilmour closes in on a move to Brighton and Hove Albion.
The Scotland midfielder will pen a long-term deal at the Amex Stadium and look to kick-start his career under the guidance of boss Graham Potter this term.
Gilmour endured a difficult loan spell in the Premier League with Norwich City last season and has been unable to earn a place in Thomas Tuchel's plans since returning to Stamford Bridge.
He is now poised to complete a switch to the Seagulls - who sit fourth in the standings with ten points from their first five matches of the campaign - and make the most of the chance to play regular first team football once again.
Brighton have agreed a £10million deal with Chelsea and Herald and Times Sport understands Rangers will now benefit from Gilmour's rise and rise in the game once again as a result of a sell-on fee.
Gilmour has already earned Rangers significant add-ons as a result of his move to London five years ago and another bonus will now land at Ibrox thanks to a 15 per cent clause in his Blues contract.
The 21-year-old emerged as one of the brightest talents of his generation during his time with Chelsea and now has the opportunity to show his potential once again after agreeing a deadline day move to Albion.
