Simon Ireland has left his role as Rangers' set-piece coach, the Rangers Review understands.
Ireland replaced Scott Fry as the club's specialist coach in that area in late July. Fry, appointed in November 2025, joined Birmingham City in the summer.
The Rangers Review understands that Ireland hasn't been in the dugout as part of recent matchday squads stretching back into August, however, and his time at Ibrox has now come to an end.
Derek McInnes' side came close to adding a third goal from a free-kick in yesterday's convincing Old Firm win over Celtic. However, Nico Raskin was adjudged to have run narrowly offside when a header found the back of the net.
McInnes discussed his side's output from corners and free-kicks speaking at a press conference last Friday.
"I do think set plays are a vitally important component in any game now. Sometimes it can be the difference and having that added threat from set plays and building a reputation is something that we need to get better at here," he said, with McInnes' Hearts team the best performers in that department alongside Rangers last season.
"I think we've struggled a wee bit in terms of set-piece takers. James Tavernier took everything here for 10 years - throw-ins, free kicks, corners - and we don't really have brilliant set-piece takers and we're trying to develop that, right and left foot.
"I think [Badredine] Bouanani has got a bit of quality that can maybe help with that. James Penrice is something he can work on as well, but even with right-footed delivery, there are things that we're still trying to get those improvements in.

"I do think you can set up and have targets and areas to hit; you can have good size and good determination, but without the delivery, everything becomes a bit more difficult.
"Defending set plays has been really strong, so there are fundamentals there and practices and consistency there that we always do and I'm pleased with that side of it. But of course set plays are a big part of the game and it's something that we will need to improve on throughout the season."
