GIOVANNI VAN BRONCKHORST will put his Rangers players through their paces in Portugal this summer as he steps up his preparations for the new Premiership campaign.
The Dutchman rounded off his first season at Ibrox by landing the Scottish Cup as the Light Blues bounced back from their Europa League defeat in Seville with victory over Hearts last month.
Now all attentions are fixed on the bid to regain the top flight title at the first time of asking and another crack at the lucrative Champions League qualifiers later this summer.
Rangers will return to training at Auchenhowie in just over a fortnight's time as Van Bronckhorst's squad - boosted by the new deals for Scott Arfield, Steven Davis and Connor Goldson - join up ahead of the new term.
Van Bronckhorst and his staff will then take the squad to Portugal for a week of warm-weather training next month as he gets his first chance to spend significant amounts of time on the training pitch and looks to utilise the opportunity to further define his tactical blueprint.
Rangers will face Sunderland at the Estádio Municipal de Albufeira on July 9 and have a meeting with Tottenham Hotspur lined up on July 23.
The Ibrox clash will see the likes of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Hugo Lloris make the trip to Glasgow and provide Rangers with a stern test as they go head-to-head with Antonio Conte's side just days before they return to competitive action.
Rangers will begin their title bid the following weekend as the SPFL season gets underway on Saturday, July 30 and their first Champions League clash will take place the following midweek as Van Bronckhorst's side enter the competition at the third qualifying round stage.
