Rangers player ratings as Liverpool knock Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men for seven

Allan McGregor 6

Did not have many saves to make outside of stopping an attempt from Salah near the end. Could not be blamed for the first two goals or the fourth but a poor kick out led to the Merseyside club's third of the night. After the floodgates opened, he could do nothing to stop the flow of goals.

James Tavernier 5

The captain could get forward a bit more compared to last week. However, defensively he was suspect at times. He was beaten far too easily for the Liverpool equaliser and gave the ball away at several points during the match.

Connor Goldson 6

While he was on the pitch, he was relatively solid. Went off just before half-time after appearing to hurt his hamstring.

Ben Davies 5

It was never going to be an easy night defensively for the Englishman, and while he did not make an individual mistake, he was part of a back four that leaked goals.

Borna Barisic 5

Was able to get forward more than he did at Anfield, but was easily beaten a few times one-on-one and sometimes could have been stronger when defending, particularly in the second half.

Ryan Jack 6

Got the assist for the home team's goal, but outside of that, he struggled to get involved in the game and was another who went off with an injury.

John Lundstram 5

The midfielder appeared to struggle with the pace of the game at times and was unable to offer much during the match.

Scott Arfield 6

It was fitting that the player who worked the hardest for the Light Blues on the night opened the scoring. He did not stop running and was a shining light during a tough evening at Ibrox.

Fashion Sakala 6

Was not involved a lot. At times he was unable to take advantage of the situation when he did get the ball. Played a couple of poor crosses and was very slack in possession.

Ryan Kent 5

The winger had a poor night and was barely involved.

Antonio Colak 6

Made himself available but received little service. Played a pivotal role in the Light Blues' goal. Ibrahima Konate appeared to have his number for the majority of the game.

Substitutes

Leon King (for Goldson, 44) 5

It was a very tough night for the youngster. He could not catch a break and was up against a world-class forward line.

Steven Davies (for Jack, 60) 4

The veteran was quiet when he came on. The 30 minutes he spent on the pitch passed him by.

Scott Wright (for Sakala, 76) 3

Made no impact

Rabbi Matondo (for Kent, 76) 3

Another who offered very little

Alfredo Morelos (for Colak, 76) 3

Made no impact
