Rangers have appointed a new head of academy scouting.
David Hopkin, former manager of Livingston and Ayr United, joins from Crystal Palace. His role is part of a summer restructuring at Auchenhowie. At Crystal Palace, Hopkin played a key role in identifying emerging Scottish talent.
He was instrumental in bringing players such as Justin Devenney, Scott Banks, and Dylan Reid to Selhurst Park. Now, the Rangers Review reports that Hopkin will oversee the recruitment of young prospects for the club’s academy.
Hopkin, 55, takes over the role from James Fowler, who moved to Newcastle United earlier this summer. Hopkin's playing career included stints at Crystal Palace, Leeds United, and Chelsea, and he was capped by Scotland.

He led Livingston from League One to the Premiership in back-to-back promotions. He will now work within the structure overseen by technical director Dan Purdy.
His appointment is part of Rangers' backroom team expansion ahead of the new season. Stig Inge Bjørnebye has joined as a performance director consultant, while Jim McAlister has returned as kitman.
Manager Derek McInnes has added Alan Archibald, Paul Sheerin, Craig Clark, and Allan McGregor as goalkeeping coach.
