Cambuslang Rangers co-bosses Billy Campbell and Paul McColl will be swapping their title winners for players of the past this Saturday.
The West of Scotland Football League Conference B champions are hosting a charity game against a Rangers legends team this Saturday in memory of Camby fan Billy Drummond.
Billy passed away aged just 10-years-old in October 2020, having lived with cerebral palsy since he was born. Camby renamed their main stand at Somervell Park ‘The Billy Drummond Stand’ in his honour last July.
Now the Wee Gers will look to raise funds for his family this weekend.
Campbell said: “I have been organising the players and different things for that. I am going to be managing the Cambuslang team alongside Paul so I am in the throes of trying to pull that team together.
“I have a few bodies there already. I am trying to get a good mix of younger and older, enough bodies that when they start to pull up, I can put others on.
“I don’t want to end up with seven players or something like that! I have had people phoning me and I am trying to pull some guys together. I want to give them all a bit of time on the park. So I am looking forward to it.”
Ibrox legends confirmed for the day so far include nine-in-a-row heroes Ian Ferguson, Gordon Durie, Charlie Miller, Marvin Andrews and Bob Malcolm.
Tickets are on sale priced at £10, with hospitality and sponsorship packages also available. Kick-off is 2pm.
