Rangers issue fan plea ahead of Braga over tifo display in wake of £30k UEFA sanction blow

Rangers have issued a warning to their fans ahead of tonight's Europa League clash with Braga.

The Ibrox outfit are set to host the Portuguese side this evening in the second leg of the competition's quarter final stage.

Currently 1-0, Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men hope to overturn the deficit in front of a home crowd to secure themselves a place in the semis.

Ahead of tonight's clash, the club's ultras - the Union Bears - have arranged a display, taking to social media to urge fans to get involved.

But the home crowd have been warned following a UEFA sanction that saw the club fined over £30k.

The punishment was issued in response the bad behaviour within the Rangers support during their win over Red Star Belgrade.

The Serbians accused the visiting support of causing up to £10,000 worth of damage at the Marakana Stadium with claims they destroyed over 500 seats.

European football’s governing body have told Rangers that they must contact Red Star Belgrade within 30 days to settle the damages.

In the hopes of avoiding any more issues, the Rangers Supporters Liaison Officer, Greg Marshall, has issued a stark warning to fans heading to Ibrox this evening,

Taking to Twitter the club's SLO said: “We have another great European night at Ibrox & fans can make a massive impact roaring the team on.

“The Union Bears have prepared a tifo & we look forward to another great display.

“We ask that fans dispose of materials at their feet. Any items on the pitch risk sanction from UEFA.”
