Rangers in talks with UK Government over UEFA’s shoddy treatment of fans in Seville

Rangers have taken their fight over fans treatment in Seville to the British Government.

The Ibrox club revealed on Monday they had compiled a dossier to take to UEFA after uniting with Europa League Final rivals Eintracht Frankfurt and Football Supporters Europe (FSE).

Now Rangers, outraged by UEFA organisation of the competition and treatment by Spanish police of travelling supporters, have gone to 10 Downing Street.

A statement form the club read: “ Rangers met with Her Majesty’s Government to discuss the issues faced by our support in Seville before, during and after the Europa League Final.

“We are grateful for this engagement and will continue to lobby on behalf of our supporters.”

UEFA are coming under mounting pressure for their handling of both the Europa League Final and the Champions League showpiece between Liverpool and Real Madrid with shocking fan accounts from the showpiece in Paris.

Rangers fans were denied water inside the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium and complained of heavy handed policing.
