Rangers have been advised to avoid Crystal Palace goalkeeper Jack Butland as an alternative to Allan McGregor.
The goalkeeping department could be undergoing changes at Ibrox this summer as their veteran stopper ponders retirement.
A decision is yet to be given on his future but alternatives have started to be mentioned with becoming Giovanni van Bronckhorst's number one.
Birmingham City and Bournemouth are also said to be in for the 29-year-old with nine England caps and no official approach is believed to have come from Ibrox as of yet.
Pundit Gabby Agbonlahor has told the Premiership giants though that a move for Palace's stopper wouldn't be a shrewd move similar to Celtic's swoop for Joe Hart last year.

Jon McLaughlin and Robby McCrorie are already at Rangers' disposal and Butland is too error prone to establish himself as number one.
The former Aston Villa striker told Football Insider: “Butland can’t catch a cold.
“I’m not sure about him at all. Over the years he’s made blunders while in goal. I don’t see that happening at all.
“Even when playing for Palace this season he doesn’t look very good in goal. He’s got a mistake in him.
“I don’t see Rangers going from McGregor to Butland, no way. Butland has underperformed for years. His confidence went, I don’t know whether it was at Stoke.
“It’s different to Joe Hart. He is a top goalkeeper, that’s why Celtic went for him.
“He (Butland) was the next one to come in after Hart but he’s not performed at all."
