Rangers FC news round up: Selection dilemmas ahead of Celtic, Champions League worry and Kris Boyd's Euro statement

Rangers FC news round up: Selection dilemmas ahead of Celtic, Champions League worry and Kris Boyd's Euro statement

JUST a day remains before the final meeting between Celtic and rangers this season and the excitement is building.

Ange Postecoglou's Hoops can all but wrap up the league title, while Rangers are in do or die territory.

Sunday's game is set to be a cracker ahead of the clash here are your top Rangers stories of the day.

Rangers team news

IT is a case of win or bust for Rangers if they want to retain the Scottish Premiership title that they battled to earn for the first time in a decade last term.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side are six points behind Celtic as they head to Parkhead today and they simply must win to keep their Premiership crown hopes alive.

If Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic take the three points then the title race will be over and the Aussie will have struck gold in his first season in charge.

Champions League worry

CELTIC and Rangers will be on alert amid claims of a major Champions League revamp ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Reports have suggested that Europe's elite competition will open up two spots for clubs based on historical performance if they have not qualified for the tournament via the normal route.

This will also see the Champions League increase from by four from 32 to 36 participants.

Boyd makes Euro statement

KRIS BOYD has called for changes in the Rangers ranks ahead of Sunday's Premiership showdown against Celtic.

The Light Blues still have a chance of winning the league if they pick up all three points against their rivals, but Ange Postecoglou's will wrap up the title if they land the victory.

And Boyd reckons his former side should prioritise their Europa League semi-final return leg against Leipzig on Thursday instead of going for broke at Parkhead.
