Rangers fans bring 'touch of Ibrox' to Wimbledon as Gio van Bronckhorst's name rings loud

A few Rangers fans brought the Blue of Ibrox to Wimbledon on Thursday with a fan chant few within SW19 would have expected.

Instead of egging on the Ibrox diehard Gordon Reid and Alfie Hewett during the men's wheelchair quarter final, some members of the crowd took the opportunity to show their love for Gio van Bronckhorst. The BBC cameras captured the Gers fans chanting "we love you Gio, we do", with the commentator's explaining to viewers that the men were "bringing a hint of Ibrox" for Wimbledon's court 14.

The footage was posted on Twitter, with many taking time to comment their thoughts on the footage. Fellow Rangers fan @Ibroxbear1872 simply replied "This is class", with another fan saying "Love it!". However, there were a few who were less than impressed with the display.

Van Bronckhorst is busy in Portugal with his players as they complete a training camp in the Algarve in preparation the 2022/23 campaign. The boss has a lot to think about this summer with both incoming and outgoing business yet to be tied up. The Ibrox boss admitted earlier today that Joe Aribo is on his way out of Ibrox, making his way to the Southampton "in the near future". In terms of recruits, striker Antonio Colak is set to complete his move to the Govan side in the coming days.
