Motherwell star Bevis Mugabi has revealed a cheeky Rangers fan asked him if he would ever consider joining the Ibrox club - before the defender scored against them in today's Premiership defeat at Fir Park.
An interesting snap of the centre-back chatting away to a Rangers fan in a Union Jack hat surfaced before the match, which the visitors won 4-2.
And it turned out the fan had an interesting question for the Ugandan international, who has made over 70 appearances for the Steelmen since joining the club in 2019.
Asked about the moment, Mugabi told Lanarkshire Live Sport : "I had a little conversation with him before the game.
"He stopped me and asked me a question: Would you play for Rangers?
"And I just laughed and said that is in God's hands, not mine.
"It was a bit of a funny question to ask, but it was all fun and games."
Mugabi would go on to climb off the bench and score an equaliser for Motherwell six minutes after he came on.
But he was left frustrated as his goal counted for nothing in the end.
Mugabi added: "I'm happy to get a goal but it is just a shame we couldn't hold on longer than we did [four minutes] when we got level."
