Officers are working on a "proportionate policing plan" to allow Rangers supporters to watch the Europa League final safely amid calls for fan zones to show the match in Glasgow.
The Gers are heading to Seville after they beat RB Leipzig 3-1 in a thrilling semi-final at Ibrox Stadium on Thursday night.
The Glasgow side battled back from behind as early goals in the second leg from James Tavernier and Glen Kamara sent them on their way before John Lundstram fired in the winner late on.
That goal sent Rangers to the final where they will face Eintracht Frankfurt in the Spanish city on Wednesday, May 18 - and a huge 100,000 supporters are expected to make the trip across for the match.
Pubs across Scotland are also set to be packed for the showpiece final - and there have been calls on social media for fan zones to be set up in Glasgow showing the match.
The last time Rangers made a European final in 2008, the big match against Zenit St Petersburg was 'beamed back' on screens at Ibrox - and many have also asked for the same to be done this year.
Police Scotland say they will work with the club and Glasgow City Council to create a policing plan that will "ensure they can maintain public safety and reduce disruption to the wider community".
Officers have also called on fans to "behave appropriately" and "respect the city and its communities" on the night.
Chief Superintendent Mark Sutherland, Divisional Commander for Greater Glasgow Division, said: “The Europa League final in Seville will be a historic occasion and getting there is a great achievement for Rangers Football Club and Scottish football.
“A proportionate policing plan will be in place and we will be working with a range of partners, including Rangers Football Club and Glasgow City Council, to ensure we do all we can to maintain public safety and reduce disruption to the wider community.
“From the outset we hope that fans enjoy their day but ask that they take personal responsibility to behave appropriately and respect Glasgow, its open spaces and its communities.”
The scramble for Seville started for Rangers fans yesterday as they began making plans to get to the Europa League final.
Rangers supporters are prepared to break the bank to cheer on their heroes and we told earlier how it's believed as many as 100,000 will travel to Seville.
The club will receive an official allocation of about 10,000 tickets, with 4000 given free by tournament organisers Uefa to reward fans for sticking with football during the pandemic.
However, Rangers have 45,000 season ticket holders and Uefa have also axed all corporate hospitality inside the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium, which has a capacity of just 40,000.
