Rangers are reportedly facing competition for the transfer of Nottingham Forest defender Jonathan Panzo this summer, something which could be good news for the Reds.
The 22-year-old spent last season on loan with Championship play-off finalists Coventry City, after arriving at the City Ground from Dijon six months earlier. He played 32 times for the Sky Blues, scoring once.
Following Forest’s Premier League survival, the player’s future now looks to be away from the club with a summer move likely. Scottish giants Rangers have been heavily linked, with reports saying that advanced negotiations are ongoing between the two clubs, with the fee said to be around £2.5million.

But it seems that Rangers will now face competition from other clubs for his signature. As reported by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano , talks are "ongoing" over the transfer, but there are other clubs in Germany and in England who are "keen" to sign the defender.
The competition could potentially be used by Forest to drive the price up. It means that any bidding war for Panzo between clubs can only be good news for the selling club as they look to make as much money as possible from the sale.
Panzp has made just one first team appearance for the Reds, playing in last season’s 1-1 Championship draw with Hull City on the final day of the normal season. He was left out of the squad entirely for the successful play-off campaign.
Forest are expected to be in the market for a central defender this summer. They have been linked with former Wolves defender Roman Saiss , with reports in Turkey claiming that the club are set to bid for the Besiktas man.
