How will Rangers fare against Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League?
Andy Newport: The Germans have hit a bit of a sticky patch of late but Gers have toiled in recent seasons when stepping up against the stronger sides in the Europa League. A narrow defeat will give them a chance for the second leg at Ibrox.
Craig Swan: Staying in the tie would be a good outcome for Rangers. The Germans are top class and the Ibrox team will need to perform with excellence to stay afloat.
Michael Gannon: They could surprise the Germans. Dortmund are having a proper nightmare right now, with flak coming from all angles. Rangers might catch them at a good time.
Scott Burns: I don’t see Rangers getting too much change out of Dortmund. They might run them close at Ibrox but I suspect the Germans will have too much over two legs.
Will Celtic take care of Bodo/Glimt in the Europa Conference League?
Newport: The Norwegians proved against Roma they are no mugs but they’ve had four of their top performers stripped away in January and Celtic should fancy their chances.
Swan: Celtic have got better in Europe through the season and have enough in the locker to win the tie in Glasgow.
Gannon: They should do. Bodo are still in pre-season and have lost some of their star turns from the side who thumped Roma. Their height could be a set-piece problem but Celtic’s attack should see them through.
Burns: The Norwegians have already had some big results in Europe. They will fancy their chances but I see Celtic taking care of Bodo/Glimt.
Have Aberdeen done the right thing in firing Stephen Glass?
Newport: Yes. He had a year in charge and two transfer windows to get the Dons motoring yet they continually broke down. A change of boss looks like the only way to get them up and running again.
Swan: Surely there was no choice. For a team with their season on the line at Motherwell at the weekend, they performed badly.
Gannon: It seems a bit daft. Aberdeen backed Glass for this project and it was always going to be a transitional season. Results have been poor but they could still finish fourth. Glass had some decent ideas but fan power has finished him in the end.
Burns: Glass is a gem of a guy but the results haven’t been good enough. Aberdeen need to be higher than ninth and Glass himself will know that.
Is Kyle Lafferty going to inspire Kilmarnock back to the Premiership?
Newport: His goals last year almost saved them from the drop and if can repeat the form that saw him blast 13 goals in 13 games first time round he’ll give shock troops Arbroath something to worry about.
Swan: Lafferty has talismanic qualities and he also has the ability to be a cut above many defenders in the Championship. I say yes.
Gannon: It’s a big signing for the Championship but Killie need to stop throwing in the occasional wobblers. It’s time to get serious and they need to build a head of steam to get out of this division.
Burns: He is certainly good enough. Kilmarnock have struggled for goals and the big man could prove the difference in the run-in.
