Rangers confirm minute's silence in memory of Jimmy Bell ahead of RB Leipzig clash

Rangers confirm minute's silence in memory of Jimmy Bell ahead of RB Leipzig clash

RANGERS have confirmed a minute's silence will be held in memory of Jimmy Bell ahead of the RB Leipzig match.

The Ibrox club will honour the life of legendary kit man Bell with the one minute of silence before the Europa League semi-final second-leg fixture.

Rangers chiefs announced Bell had passed away yesterday as tributes were paid to the club hero from across Scottish football.

And fans attending the Europa League match tomorrow night will now have the opportunity to pay their respects with a minute's silence.

A Rangers statement on Twitter confirmed: "Rangers can confirm that, in memory of Jimmy Bell, there will be one minute of silence prior to tomorrow night’s game."

It comes after Giovanni van Bronckhorst this morning paid tribute to Bell and urged his players to "make Jimmy proud".

He said: "Yesterday, we were all very shocked about the news of Jimmy.

"It was a hard day for all of us. We are still in shock, we talked about him & shared our personal stories about Jimmy.

"It was a really big game already, but we are even more determined now to make Jimmy proud.

"We still mourn and are down but the character, belief and determination of my players are there and we will do everything to reach the final. We will be ready."
