Rangers have appointed former Queens Park Rangers boss Michael Beale as their new manager.
Beale leaves QPR after just five months, signing a four-year deal at Ibrox to replace the sacked Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
Beale’s decision to leave has angered QPR. The manager last month turned down the chance to manage Premier League side Wolves, insisting at the time: “Integrity and loyalty are big things for me, and if they are the values you live by you have to be strong. I have been all-in here and I have asked other people to be all-in so I can't be the first person to run away from the ship."
QPR have lost four of their five matches since and now Beale - whose Twitter account is now no longer active - has returned to the club he enjoyed much success at as part of Steven Gerrard’s coaching team.
Upon confirming Beale’s appointment on a contract until the summer of 2026, Rangers declared him as “undoubtedly one of the most sought-after young managers in British football”.
Rangers chairman Douglas Park added: “Michael is a very exciting appointment for us, and his energy and ambition stood out both when he was here previously, and in the discussions we have had prior to him re-joining.”
