Rangers are close to landing Jose Cifuentes but face a potential major stumbling block over Jack Butland.
Michael Beale has been working hard in the background holding talks and identifying targets as he begins plotting his Ibrox summer overhaul and the Scottish Sun report the Light Blues could now be on the verge of pipping Toulouse to the Los Angeles FC star. He's under contract until December but the MLS are reported to be inviting offers for their star man now.
Celtic and Manchester City have previously been linked with the 24-year-old and the same tabloid state Ibrox chiefs have held talks with his representatives over the past week but they could face a big blow in their pursuit of Butland.

The same article reports that Manchester United are ready to offer double the salary offer made to keep him at Old Trafford beyond his loan spell from Crystal Palace.
Rangers are believed to be willing to match his salary at the Eagles with the promise of first-team action north of the border but now it is claimed Erik ten Hag wants to bring him back as cover for David de Gea and Dean Henderson. That throws up the decision of whether moving to Ibrox to play or bank more cash as a back-up in the English Premier League.
A number of names have already been linked with Rangers this summer including Chelsea defender Dujon Sterling, Arsenal's Auston Trusty and Kieran Dowell of Norwich City - who is leaving Carrow Road as a free agent.
Alfredo Morelos will be leaving while Ryan Kent is expected to join. Allan McGregor is another who is set to depart the club while contract decisions are yet to be made on Scott Arfield, Filip Helander and Steven Davis. Ryan Jack is set to stay beyond the summer with just an official announcement to come on his terms.
The likes of fringe pair Scott Wright and Jon McLaughlin look also set to be sold.
