The Viaplay Cup final must not come down to a 'ludicrous' VAR decision between Celtic and Rangers.
That is the view of pundit Michael Stewart who believes that referee Nick Walsh and VAR official John Beaton must take caution to avoid the technology taking centre stage at Hampden. The two Glasgow heavyweights meet at the national stadium as Michael Beale and Ange Postecoglou vie for the first piece of silverware up for grabs this season with both teams on varying levels of an undefeated run.
It will be a tantalising clash with Celtic currently having a healthy nine-point lead at the top of the league table, and Stewart insists that even if Rangers go on and win Sunday's showdown it would not 'derail' the Hoops enough to allow Beale's men to also secure the title.

He told BBC Sportscene: "What we hope is that we've seen enough incidents since VAR has come in. You just hope there is not a ludicrous decision from VAR or the referee that decides the game because there's very little to choose between the two at the moment."
Asked if Rangers winning would damage Celtic, he said: "I would be astonished. They're a relentless outfit (Celtic) and even if they were to lose the trophy I would be surprised if it would derail their league campaign to the extent it would need for Rangers to get back in to it."
