The SPFL have announced that matches involving Rangers, Celtic and the rest of the pyramid will not go ahead this weekend.
Matches up and down the country will be postponed to a later date in a mark of respect to Her Majesty The Queen, who sadly passed away yesterday afternoon aged 96. The UK's longest-serving monarch died at Balmoral on Thursday after reigning for 70 years.
The likes of Celtic, Rangers, Hearts, Queen's Park and many more clubs all paid touching tributes and sent their thoughts and condolences to the Royal Family following the news yesterday. The Jambos held a minute's silence before the second half of their Europa Conference League clash with İstanbul Başakşehir and wore black armbands after news broke during the game.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst had been due to take his Rangers side to Pittodrie in the Saturday early kick-off against Aberdeen while Celtic were set to put their 100 per cent record on the line at home to Livingston.
In the Scottish Championship, Queen's Park and Partick Thistle were also due to play against Morton and Ayr United but both games, like every other game, have now been called off.
A statement from the SPFL read: "Following meetings this morning, the Scottish FA, Scottish Professional Football League, Scottish Women’s Premier League, and Scottish Highland and Lowland Football Leagues have agreed that all professional football matches will be postponed this weekend as a mark of respect following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
"This postponement will also incorporate the Women’s Scottish Cup fixtures this weekend."
Rod Petrie, Scottish FA President said: “We spoke with our counterparts across the UK this morning and in discussions with our colleagues across the professional game in Scotland it was agreed that this was the appropriate step to take following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
“We will work with our clubs and members in the meantime to ensure appropriate steps are taken throughout the period of mourning.”
Neil Doncaster, Chief Executive of the SPFL, added: “Following consultation with the UK and Scottish Governments, the Scottish FA, our counterparts at the EPL and others, we confirm that all SPFL fixtures scheduled for this weekend will be postponed as a mark of respect.
“The passing of The Queen, a constant in our lives for 70 years, is a profound and momentous occasion. It is therefore appropriate that professional football marks this event with all possible solemnity.
“We will update clubs and supporters when we have clarity over official arrangements for Her Majesty’s funeral.”
