Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst says the likes of Uddingston's Alex Lowry are the future for his team.
During Sunday's 2-0 Premiership win over Dundee United, the midfielder was given a chance to show his potential along with Leon King, Charlie McCann and Adam Devine.
Lowry has emerged as one of Rangers' brightest prospects and signed a new deal until 2025 on Saturday.
His previous contract was to expire next year with Newcastle United and Manchester City keeping tabs on the situation.
But with five senior appearances under his belt at the Europa League finalists, van Bronckhorst can't wait to see what the future holds.
He believes 18-year-old Lowry is one player the Ibrox side should be excited about in years to come.
The Dutchman said: "Alex was in the squad and he was in the squad last game. We have a big squad and we have also a lot of academy players who are knocking on the door to play.
“I think Alex is the one to get the most chances together with Leon. I think Charlie McCann is developing really well. Adam Devine, who came in, is also one we give all the chances to develop himself to be a future player of Rangers.
"In the end I am really pleased with it. It was a good. I’m preparing my team for the last two finals of the season. But I think today you saw a glimpse of the future of this club.
“With Leon King, with Alex Lowry, McCann, Devine – those are players who in a couple of years will substitute all the players we have now. It’s a natural process, I think.
“We gave them the chance today because we trust them. They are learning all the time and developing as well as we want. Also, they have to keep pushing and keep working hard to become a better player every day.”
