Paraag Marathe has rejoined the Rangers board after stepping down earlier this year.
The Leeds United chairman, who is also the president of 49ers Enterprises, was initially appointed as Rangers vice-chairman in May 2025.
This was after the US consortium acquired a controlling 51 per cent stake in the club. However, Marathe, alongside fellow Rangers director Gene Schneur, temporarily left their roles as Leeds advanced in the FA Cup last season.
The temporary departure aimed to keep Rangers compliant with UEFA’s multi-club ownership rules, with Leeds in line for potential European qualification had they won the competition.

The Leeds side were eventually knocked out in the semi-final, failing to qualify for Europe, thus allowing Marathe and Schneur to return to the Ibrox board. Had Leeds qualified for the Europa League, Rangers could have faced penalties.
Last season, Crystal Palace were demoted from the competition due to multi-club ownership links with Lyon.
Sources close to Rangers maintain that Marathe’s temporary departure was in line with UEFA rules. The club is committed to adhering to the governing body’s regulations regarding multi-club ownership.
Marathe was seen at Ibrox throughout the summer, attending the recent shareholders’ meeting.
