Rangers assessing Kemar Roofe amid further injury concerns

Rangers boss Philippe Clement has revealed the club are assessing Kemar Roofe amid further injury concerns.

The Ibrox striker suffered an injury setback recently, with the 30-year-old being ruled out of action for the immediate future.

Clement said: "We are assessing Kemar Roofe at the moment, hopefully short-term."

Roofe posted on Instagram that he was away visiting a specialist in Belgium in a bid to get to the bottom of his knock.

And the Light Blues manager had previously revealed that he was determined to sort out the forward's issues.

"(Kemar) probably we need to rebuild," he said. "In the next weeks, we need to take a really good look at that because he has been struggling for a long time with the same things.

"It is important to find the reason for that and not always find the solution to get him fit for the next game and struggling afterwards again and going game by game, but really going to the cause of the problem.”

The Ibrox boss also provided an update on Nico Raskin. The Belgian youth international was forced off against Hearts on Sunday with an ankle knock.

Clement has now confirmed that Raskin will not be involved as Rangers take on Dundee tomorrow evening.

He explained: "Raskin is not in the squad for tomorrow, he was doing good things so it is a pity. I hope it is short-term, we will see the next couple of days."
