Rangers announce £86.8m club record turnover as Europa League run and transfers key to big result

Rangers have announced an operating profit of nearly £6million and a club record turnover of £86.8m for the year to June 30.

The new figures represent an vast increase on the £27.6m operating loss last year with the club making two record player sales across the last 12 month period and reaching the Europa League Final last season. Nathan Patterson departed the club last January for a move to English Premier League club Everton before Calvin Bassey's big money summer switch to Ajax then broke the record set by the former Rangers kid and Scotland international. Joe Aribo also said his goodbyes after joining Southampton.

Champions League involvement and prize money from competing at Europe's top table is not factored into these account results with chairman Douglas Park delighted with the 'success and progress' over the last 12 months to strengthen the financial position at the club.
