The SPFL and Rangers are set for a "nuclear" fallout over the sponsorship deal with Glen's Vodka, according to a report.
The Ibrox side have been at odds with the governing body over their arrangement with name sponsor cinch with Gers chairman Douglas Park, who owns Park's Motor Group, leading a legal challenge. Park’s company released a scathing statement blasting the governing body for forcing them into an arbitration process run by the SFA and accusing the league of dragging their heels as Rangers pressed for a settlement, with the SPFL later vowing to 'set the record straight.'
Things have gone quiet since though and a summit of all 12 Premiership clubs, which was pencilled in for November, was scrapped by the governing body. But the Daily Mail now report things are set to "explode" once more - and this time it's the arrangement with Glen's Vodka.
The sponsorship deal with Loch Lomond Group, who produce Glen's, is set for renewal but it's claimed Rangers have written to their Premiershio counterparts warning they feel "unable to fill any aspect of the new agreement." It's reported the latest fallout is an "escalation" of the row with cinch and is set to bring the legal row out of cold storage. The Mail cite a source as saying things could get "nuclear" between the governing SPFL and one of their flagship clubs.
