Rangers and Celtic fever goes global as Spanish media give giddy verdict while Japan relish primetime slot

It's Scottish football's marquee match-up that guarantees drama, talking points and white-knuckle excitement whatever is at stake.

But Rangers vs Celtic has a little something extra on the line this time around.

Ange Postcoglou 's league leaders travel to the Ibrox with the Premiership champions trailing their fierce foes by three points.

A home win and we're set for a bonkers finish to the season but a triumph for Celtic would signal the clearest indication yet that the Parkhead side are closing in on another title.

And It's not just on British shores that the big game is catching the imagination.

Rangers against Celtic is gaining traction across the globe.

Leading Spanish publication Sport marked out Sunday's fixtures as one of the can't miss contests taking place amid a jam-packed schedule across Europe.

They wrote: "'The 'Old Firm' . One of the best derbies in Europe , if not the best, between Rangers and Celtic. Glasgow, an opposing city that will have its sights set on a duel with an immense political, religious and social component. Celtic, league leaders in Scotland , will try to take the league title won by the 'Light Blues' last season."

Broadcaster DAZN - understood to be eyeing a move to acquire rights to broadcasting football in Britain - will show the game exclusively Japan.

And followers of Celtic's four Blue Samurai internationals plus Postecoglou will welcome the primetime kick-off time of 8.00pm.

Observers in Japan will be keen to see if the ever-popular Kyogo Furuhashi makes a return to action for the first time since Boxing Day.

DAZN have given the fixture prominence on their social media accounts and app, as the big one in Glasgow's south side leads straight into an English Premier League double header.

America's CBSSN have highlighted the fixture as their game of the weekend while it is being shown across the globe by a variety of networks.
