Malik Tillman showed exactly why Michael Beale wants to keep him at Rangers on a permanent basis as he climbed off the bench to net the opener and show his class.
John Lundstram was an early casualty to injury and was replaced with the USA international and his driving runs, skill on the ball and his eye for goal proved key in this win. Jordan White responded to his opener before Borna Barisic won the three points with a free-kick. His effort took a huge deflection to leave Ross Laidlaw helpless but the Light Blues faithful won't care as they cut the gap on Celtic back down to six points ahead of their trip to Perth to face St Johnstone tomorrow.
The result also maintains Michael Beale's long unbeaten run since his arrival at Ibrox and maintains the confidence in the camp. The Ibrox support also got a first glimpse of new signing Nicolas Raskin who climbed on in the final ten minutes to an excellent reception. Here's three things we learned at Ibrox
RAED MORE: The Rangers six who Michael Beale consults over transfers and everything that happens at Ibrox
Debut boy
Rangers fans got a first glimpse of what Nicolas Raskin will bring to the table.
The January recruit climbed off the bench after getting the green light for his work permit.
He was handed a great reception from the Light Blues support and will be excited to get going.
Real competition in the midfield positions now for Michael Beale.
Rotation role
Once again Michael Beale handed Jon McLaughlin the gloves for Allan McGregor.
He has rotated the duo of late as the Ibrox No2 gets the chance to stake a claim for next season.
Current No3 Robby McCrorie is currently injured but has also been promised a chance.
With McGregor the named No1 and likely to hang up his gloves in the summer, Beale is exploring his options ahead of the big question. Stick with what he has in the building or twist in the transfer market?
Only time and performances will tell but one thing for sure is he will be disappointed with his role in Jordan White's goal.
You are the Tillman
Malik Tillman really is showing his importance for this Rangers side.
Started as a substitute but on early doors after John Lundstram injury.
Excellent header for opener after lovely build-up play.
A constant threat on the ball and is adding the nitty gritty side to his game.
One Michael Beale wants to keep and you can bet the Ibrox faithful share that view.
Eight goals for the campaign now.
