Rangers 0 Standard Liege 0: Notable absentees in pre-season draw

Rangers played out a goalless draw with Standard Liege in their first pre-season friendly.

The Ibrox side took on the Belgian club in the Netherlands in a closed-door match on Wednesday.

Philippe Clement utilised the fixture to get minutes into the legs of 24 players.

However, there were some notable absentees from the matchday squad.

Captain James Tavernier did not feature, instead being positioned watching from the side of the pitch, with Dujon Sterling in the same position.

Zak Lovelace and Danilo, who have both been out injured for lengthy spells, also watched from the sidelines.

Todd Cantwell was another player not afforded a spot in the Rangers team for the first or second half in the bounce game.

Cortes and Ross McCausland went close to openers in the first half with Alex Lowry denied a late winner as his effort struck the post.
