A Range Rover driver who smashed into a woman on a bike after downing Bacardi and coke then told police she hated cyclists. Janice McVicar drove off after hitting cyclist Jade Edmonds.
She then drove down the road before crashing into a parked car then rolling her own vehicle onto its side. Her victim, who had taken up cycling to get fit for her wedding, was left with life-long injuries which include brain damage and the loss of most of her sight in one of her eyes.
McVicar was spoken to by the police at the scene and told one officer: “I know I shouldn’t have been driving. I had a drink, I have done wrong, I’m sorry.”, according to the Manchester Evening News.
