Range Rover costing £80,000 submerged by rising tide after breaking down

If you've ever wondered whether an £80,000 Range Rover can float, well one driver has found that out the hard way - so you don't have to. The holiday goer had been visiting Cornwall in their Range Rover Sport when they broke down on a slipway in St Just Creek, at St Just-in-the-Roseland.

The car had been equipped with a boat trailer and, despite the owners trying desperately to save it - in the early hours of Sunday (July 17) - they had to scramble to retrieve their belongings, Cornwall Live reports. They'd tried to launch during the early low tide, as the later low tide would have come at a particularly busy time.

One resident, Tess Wilson, shared a snap of the incident from her friend Kirsty Penny. She said: "Funny boats in St Mawes Bay this morning. The trailer is still attached."
