Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Van Jefferson is scheduled to see a specialist for a lingering knee injury that has kept him out of practices at the start of training camp.
Jourdan Rodrigue, who covers the Rams for The Athletic, noted on Saturday that Jefferson had not practiced. She also reported that according to head coach Sean McVay, the team was “working on figuring out an unknown situation” with his knee:
Sean McVay says team is working on figuring out an unknown situation with Van Jefferson; declined to say whether it involved Jefferson’s previous knee injury. Says team is working through it.

On Sunday, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Networked reported on the trip to see a specialist, which is set for Monday:

Last season, Jefferson started all 17 regular-season games for the Rams, catching 50 passes for 802 yards and six touchdowns. He added another nine receptions for 102 yards in the Rams’ four playoff wins. With the departure of Robert Woods to Tennessee, and Odell Beckham Jr. remaining a free agent, Jefferson was likely to take on a bigger role for the Rams in 2022.
