The Arizona Cardinals face the Los Angeles Rams this Sunday and it could be a battle of backup quarterbacks. Kyler Murray has a hamstring injury he is working through for the Cardinals and the Rams’ Matthew Stafford is in the league’s concussion protocol.
Stafford has a chance to play on Sunday.
Rams coach Sean McVay said Stafford will be questionable for the game and it could come down to a game-time decision. Stafford was making “good progress” through the protocols and was scheduled to practice on a limited basis Friday.
He must completely clear the league protocol to even have a chance of playing. Even if he clears protocols, there is a chance that he would still sit out this week.
If that is the case, John Wolford would make the start for the Rams.
The Cardinals and Rams kick off at SoFi Stadium Sunday afternoon at 4:25 p.m. ET, or 2:25 p.m. Arizona time.
