The Los Angeles Rams came into Week 6 having lost their last two games in embarrassing fashion to the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys. Thankfully, they caught a bad Carolina Panthers team at home and took full advantage of a favorable matchup.
Buy Rams TicketsThey blew out the Panthers, 24-10, improving their record to 3-3 on the year. With a Week 7 bye coming up, it was the perfect time for Los Angeles to get back on track before regrouping for the second half of the season.
Here’s a recap and quick analysis of the Rams’ Week 6 win over Carolina.
Final score: Rams 24, Panthers 10
Game notes
- The defense was absolutely dominant against the Panthers. Carolina gained 51 yards on 12 plays on its opening drive, but after that, the Rams allowed absolutely nothing to the Panthers. On the day, Carolina mustered just 203 total yards.
- Allen Robinson had his best game of the season, catching five passes for 63 yards and one touchdown. He also had a fantastic block on Ben Skowronek’s touchdown run to give the Rams the lead.
- The Rams scored their first fourth-quarter touchdown of the year when Darrell Henderson Jr. punched it in from 2 yards out midway through the final quarter. The fourth has been a huge problem for Los Angeles.
- Matthew Stafford played well in this one, aside from his pick-six in the first half. That came on a poor decision, with the ball being tipped and eventually intercepted by Donte Jackson, who returned it for a touchdown. Stafford was accurate throwing to all areas of the field, not just checking it down and taking short passes.
- Marquise Copeland continues to stand out for the Rams. He had six tackles and a sack, helping bolster a defensive line that’s been reliant on three starters.
- The offensive line keeps getting decimated by injuries. In the second quarter of the game, Joe Noteboom went down with an ankle injury and was carted off.
- Jalen Ramsey recorded his second career sack, the second week in a row he brought down a quarterback. Prior to last week, he had zero in his career.
It was over when...
… Darrell Henderson Jr. scored a 2-yard touchdown to put the Rams up 24-10 over the Panthers with about 9 minutes left in the game. A 14-point lead isn’t insurmountable in the NFL, but given the Panthers’ offensive struggles, they weren’t coming back from that deficit.

- No. 1 star: Jalen Ramsey – 3 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 sack
Play of the game
Robinson made a lot of standout plays for the Rams on Sunday, but his touchdown catch in the first half was particularly impressive. These contested catches are what make him such a talented receiver, and he showed that off multiple times against Carolina.

What's next?
The Rams get a much-needed bye in Week 7, allowing several banged-up players to rest and recover from injuries they’re currently dealing with. They’ll come back from the bye and face the 49ers in Week 8, which will be a pivotal moment in the season.
