Laxmipat Singhania Institute of Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery in Kanpur has devised an emergency pack for cardiac patients called 'Ram kit', which is named after the traditional medical proverb 'We Treat He Cures'. It has an image of the Ram temple, essential medications, and medical contact numbers.
Beginning on January 13, the Cantonment hospital in Prayagraj will be the first hospital in the state to provide 'Ram kits' to 5,000 households in Sangam city. "The Ram kit comprises three medicines, including Ecosprin (blood thinner), Rosuvastatin (cholesterol control), and Sorbitrate (for better heart function), which are helpful in offering immediate relief to anyone suffering from heart ailments," said Dr. S K Pandey, director of Cantonment Hospital. Ram Kit will be beneficial to anyone in need of emergency support and could even save lives as heart disease and stroke cases rose during the winter."
