Popular Telugu actor Ram Charan's 16th film, tentatively titled 'RC16,' was officially launched by his father, the renowned Chiranjeevi. The upcoming movie is set to offer audiences a captivating journey through rural landscapes, emotional storytelling, and rustic charm.
The directorial reins of 'RC16' have been entrusted to Buchi Babu Sana, who garnered critical acclaim for his debut film 'Uppena' (2021) by winning the Best Telugu Film award at India's National Film Awards. Sana's prior experience includes working as a writer and assistant director on the hit film 'Rangasthalam' (2018) under the guidance of filmmaker Sukumar, who is known for his recent success with 'Pushpa.'
Produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru for Vriddhi Cinemas and presented by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar's Sukumar Writings, 'RC16' boasts a stellar cast featuring Janhvi Kapoor alongside Ram Charan. The musical score for the film will be composed by the legendary A.R. Rahman, known for his Oscar-winning work on 'Slumdog Millionaire,' while the lyrics will be penned by Chandrabose, the talent behind the award-winning song 'Naatu Naatu' from 'RRR.'
The technical crew of 'RC16' includes renowned professionals such as cinematographer R. Rathnavelu ('Rangasthalam'), editor Antony L. Ruben ('Jawan'), and action choreographer Supreme Sunder ('Animal'). Avinash Kolla ('Major') will handle the art direction, and Deepali Noor ('Pushpa') will be in charge of costume design.
The launch event witnessed the presence of industry stalwarts like Sukumar and S. Shankar, who is set to direct Ram Charan in the upcoming film 'Game Changer.' Additionally, producer Boney Kapoor expressed his intention to remake 'Uppena' in Hindi.
Expressing his gratitude, director Buchi Babu Sana remarked, 'I am honored to have the support of such esteemed guests, especially megastar Chiranjeevi. This opportunity, stemming from my association with Sukumar during 'Rangasthalam,' is truly remarkable, and I am committed to delivering my best for 'RC16.'
