WA youth prison transfer 'threatens lives'

The grandmother of a boy set to be moved to an adult prison in Western Australia fears he will take his life in the maximum-security facility.

About 20 boys, some aged as young as 14 and mostly Indigenous, will be relocated from Perth's Banksia Hill juvenile detention centre to a standalone facility at nearby Casuarina Prison.
