Amadou Haidara says he sees "no reason" to leave RB Leipzig amid interest from Manchester United.
The 24-year-old was interim manager Ralf Rangnick 's top target in the January transfer window, with a defensive midfielder of his profile a priority at Old Trafford.
But Haidara, who has previously confessed his ambition to play for the Red Devils, never ended up signing for United and has affirmed that he is happy in Germany after representing Mali at the Africa Cup of Nations.
"I can't say much about that. I'm glad to be back. You hear rumours, that's how it is when the transfer period is over," Bild quote him as saying after returning to Leipzig training, via Sport Witness.
"But I still have a contract [until 2025] and I want to keep fulfilling it. I see no reason to think about a change."

Haidara, though, did note that the Premier League is "very interesting" to him and "many players want to prove their skills there" but added: "I feel very comfortable here and I'm glad that I can develop further here.
"It's clear that the English league is very interesting for all of us. But why should I throw this all away for something I might not be sure about? One wonders whether it's worth it.
"Of course, I asked myself this question, but I don't have an answer because I want to achieve my goals here with RB. That's what I'm still working for."
One of the reasons behind the Red Devils' interest in Rangnick's relationship with the midfielder, who has a reported £33million release clause.
Haidara was signed by Red Bull Salzburg in 2016 while the acclaimed German coach was sporting director of both the Austrian giants and Lezipig.
And Rangnick then took him to east Germany in January 2019, managing him for a half a season before Haidara helped Leipzig to the Champions League semi-finals in 2020 under Julian Nagelsmann.
Recently, Christopher Vivell - technical director of the Bundesliga club - shut down speculation.
Speaking to Sky Sports Germany, via Sport Witness, Vivell stated: "It's special with the boys who are at the Africa Cup. Amadou Haidara has been with us for a long time, an important player.
"I also don't think he necessarily wanted that, to just move somewhere else."
And for Rangnick, this past January was more about shipping players out.
While Donny van de Beek and Anthony Martial left on loan to Everton and Sevilla respectively, the temporary United boss had given Jesse Lingard the green light to leave but Old Trafford chiefs were unable to agree terms with interested suitors Newcastle.
