NEW DELHI: Not all Congress leaders whose names were approved by party president Sonia Gandhi on Sunday to contest the forthcoming Rajya Sabha election are loyalists. Of the 10 nominated leaders, at least four of them have been critical of the party leadership at some point of time.
According to the Congress’s list, Rajeev Shukla and Ranjeet Ranjan have been nominated from Chhattisgarh, Ajay Maken from Haryana, Jairam Ramesh from Karnataka, Vivek Tankha from Madhya Pradesh, Imran Pratapgarhi from Maharashtra, Randeep Singh Surjewala, Mukul Wasnik and Pramod Tiwari from Rajasthan and P Chidambaram from Tamil Nadu.
