JAIPUR: Two days after a man was found murdered in his bedroom at a village under Nagar police station area of Bharatpur, the police arrested his wife on Thursday. Police stated that the woman had confessed to her crime as she was upset with her husband’s alcoholic habits and daily assault. Prior to the murder she had offered a drink laced with sedatives and then after he was drowsy, she slit his throat and killed him.
According to police, the man identified as Jitendra (30) was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his residence on Tuesday. Soon after the incident his wife Deepa (28) urged the police to make the arrest of the accused behind the murder.
“Since the body was found, the activities of his wife, Deepa, were suspicious. She looked nervous and at the same time she was shouting at us and urging us to make arrests in this case. Even their house was not trespassed during early hours on Tuesday. Her role in this case looked suspicious,” said a senior Nagar police officer.
Police initially detained the wife and questioned her sternly. “She confessed her crime on Wednesday and stated that her husband was into unnatural sex with her and that too in front of her daughters. Also, her husband was a habitual drinker who used to remain inebriated every evening. He also assaulted her every day over trivial issues,” added the police officer.
