JAIPUR: A 32-year-old man murdered his 60-year-old aunt by hitting her with a hammer and chopped her body into 10 pieces. The accused later disposed the body parts at three different places in Jaipur, police said.
The accused has been arrested.
Anuj Sharma, the accused, studied engineering but later became a disciple of the Hare Krishna Movement and began attending kirtans and organising preaching sessions.
DCP (North) Paris Deshmukh said that Anuj killed his aunt Saroj Sharma on December 11 following a quarrel over going to Haridwar.
"Her aunt had come to live with Anuj’s family in Vidhyadhar Nagar area. Anuj’s father and sister had gone to Indore when he hit her aunt with a hammer following a tiff," Deshmukh said.
The accused then purchased a marble cutter machine and dragged Saroj’s body into the washroom and cut it into pieces.
Anuj then reached Vidhyadhar Nagar police station to file a missing persons’ report (MPR). The police initially treated it as a case of a woman gone missing until they found a CCTV video in which the accused was seen dragging a heavy suitcase.
Deshmukh said that the police have so far discovered eight body parts. The accused had flushed two other parts of Saroj’s body into some nullah.
