Rain showers are expected to hit the North East in a day of unsettled weather, according to forecasters.
Low cloud and fog should clear on Sunday to make way for sunny spells but this will be disrupted by showery rain from midday.
The Met Office predicts there could be heavy rain showers in the evening, with the maximum temperature reaching 18 °C.

On Monday, there could be the odd outbreak of rain in the morning but it will be followed sunny spells, and showers could become heavy and possibly thundery Monday afternoon.
