Every railway station in the North East is expected to be affected by the train strike confirmed for later this month.
Journeys throughout Britain will be hit by the disruption, which the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT union promises will "shut down" the network in a row over jobs, pensions and pay. There were hopes the strike, which staff voted for in May, would be called off, but the RMT confirmed three days of pickets in mid to late June.
Staff working for 13 major operators, including LNER, Northern, CrossCountry and Transpennine will walk out, along with staff from Network Rail. If the strike goes ahead, it will be the biggest on the rail network since 1989, according to the RMT.
