A third day of strike action is set to disrupt railway services in the North East.
RMT members working for 13 operators, including several that run trains through Newcastle, Durham, Darlington and Northumberland, are set to walk out, along with colleagues working for Network Rail.
Northern will not be running any trains in the Newcastle area, or in Northumberland or much of County Durham. The only route it is keeping open in the North East is between Darlington and Saltburn, via Middlesbrough, with a reduced service.

TransPennine Express has said it will not be operating any trains on the Newcastle to Edinburgh route, while CrossCountry, LNER and Grand Central are all running significantly reduced timetables. Lumo staff are not on strike, but disruption is still likely.
How RMT rail strikes affect trains in the North East on Saturday June 25
Operators are advising passengers not to travel. Tickets can be used on alternative days. Below is what train companies have said will be their service in the North East on Saturday. Be aware that timetables may be amended, so check with train companies if you do plan to travel.
LNER
LNER issued this alert on Saturday morning: "Trains will run approximately every 30 minutes between London King’s Cross and York, Newcastle, and Edinburgh, and one train an hour between London King’s Cross and Leeds. All in each direction."

- 09.46 - First northbound train from Newcastle
- 17.46 - Last northbound train from Newcastle
- 07.51 - First train southbound from Newcastle
- 16.56 -Last train southbound from Newcastle
Northern
No service on routes in the North East other than Darlington to Saltburn via Middlesbrough. Timetables are available to view here but Northern urges passengers not to travel.
CrossCountry
CrossCountry says: "Unfortunately, there is likely to be significant disruption to services across the rail network this weekend, so please only travel by train if your journey is necessary. If you are travelling, please plan ahead and allow extra time to make your journey.
"Please note there is likely to be a later start up time for services and your last train may be earlier than usual, so remember to check the departure time of your train before you travel."
The Birmingham to Scotland route, via stations in the North East including Darlington, Durham, Newcastle, Alnmouth and Berwick "will have a limited service" in place between 7.30am and 6.30pm.
CrossCountry says it will operate one train per hour between Birmingham and York (via Leeds) with four trains per day extended to Edinburgh. via the North East.

Transpennine
There will now be no TransPennine Express train services between Newcastle and Edinburgh on Saturday June 25, TPE confirmed. There is a limited service on other routes, but nothing will operate in the North East, the timetables suggest.
Lumo
There are trains from Newcastle to Edinburgh via Morpeth at 08:41, 13:46, 15:04 and 16:48.
Lumo plans to operate trains from Newcastle to London at 07:57, 09:50, 10:52 and 12:50

Grand Central
Three trains will run from London to Eaglescliffe, from 11:24, 12:56 and 14:24 but won't go through to Sunderland. Two trains will operate from Eaglescliffe to London, departing at 09:42 and 10:42. They won't depart from Sunderland either.
