The Las Vegas Raiders have traded up once again, sending picks No. 204 and No. 220 to the New York Jets for No. 170. It was their third trade of the weekend as they continue to be aggressive grabbing their guys.
At pick No. 170, the Raiders have selected Georgia SS Christopher Smith. Smith was a part of the Georgia defense over the last two years that won back-to-back National Championships.
170) LV: Christopher Smith – S/Georgia
So many ties to NE in this LV draft class. Had him going to NE at some point. Lacks ideal measurables but as smart as the come – played all over secondary. Players and coaches said he was the glue.

Smith will compete for the No. 4 safety spot on the roster and is expected to be a key special teamer. Considering his experience and production, this feels like a fantastic spot to grab a player of his caliber.
