On Monday, NFL teams can officially start to tamper. Legally. Teams can meet with the agents of players and agree on deals before officially signing them on Wednesday.
But that hasn’t stopped the NFL from moving this weekend. Across the league, there has been a flurry of moves ahead of the free-agency period. And that includes the Raiders, who just locked up one of their own.
According to his agent, David Canter, the Raiders have officially re-signed starting center Andre James, who was set to become a free agent on Wednesday.
Congratulations to @GSEworldwide client Andre James on agreeing to terms to re-sign with @Raiders Great work by teammates @NessMugrabi @brian_mcintyre @IanGrutman

The Raiders are expected to have some turnover on their offensive line, but locking up James was a huge priority for the Raiders. He’s improved every year with the Raiders and pairing him with Kolton Miller and Dylan Parham will continue to make the offensive line very strong.
James has appeared in 76 games for the Raiders since 2019, and he became the full-time starter in 2021. Since then, he has started 48 games and has developed into one of the top centers in the NFL.
