The Las Vegas Raiders have officially wrapped up the 2023 preseason after falling to the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday, 31-16. None of the starters played for the Raiders and there were even some key backups who sat as the team gets ready for Week 1.
One player who did make his NFL debut was Tyree Wilson, who was activated off the non-football injury list last week. The No. 7 pick from the 2023 NFL Draft played 11 snaps, racking up one pressure and one hurry. While he didn’t see extensive playing time, it was nice to see him on the field, even if it was in a limited role.
Aidan O’Connell got the start at quarterback again and played nearly the entire game as he locked up the No. 3 QB job. Jimmy Garoppolo and Brian Hoyer remain ahead of him, but O’Connell had a nice preseason that he should be able to build on going forward.
The Raiders now have until Tuesday at 4:00 PM ET to cut their roster down to 53 players. However, don’t be surprised if the cuts start rolling in over the weekend as they prepare for the Tuesday deadline.
The next time the Raiders are on the field, they will travel to Denver to take on the Broncos in Week 1. That game will kick off on September 10 at 4:25 p.m. ET.
